Film and television are just different.
Film is cool because it's a complete package. You know the beginning, middle, and end. You can plan it out more, which I like. But with television you get a new script every week, so it's constantly a mystery as to what you're going to be doing.

Producing a television show can come easily to those with practice, which makes sense. Those people understand what certain elements to budget, modify, or strip away in order for the show to run successfully. As for me, this past year, I was given my first opportunity to be a sole producer on my very own live television broadcast, Smash for the Ages.

From students to faculty and staff, the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication filled with over 100 dedicated people preparing to cover the biggest event of November, the 2018 Midterm Elections. There was the sight of the complex mechanical cogs-and-gear operation, Hofstra Votes LIVE, the first ever live, multi-platform Election Night broadcast, simulcast from our news-based program, Hofstra Today and 88.7 FM WRHU Radio Hofstra University.
